I snuck out…but I’m back!

Please forgive the lack of recent posts. I’ve been sort of busy. Here’s a bit of what I was doing:

Drinking Champagne at Café de Flore:

They always serve it nice and cold!

Dining on course after beautiful course at the exquisite French-Japanese restaurant, Sola:

Incredible.

Gorgeous!

Foie gras with miso glaze.

Fish One.

Fish Two!

Dessert One.

Dessert Two!

Lunching on lobster salad at Fish la Boissonnerie in Saint Germain:

Fish la Boissonnerie.

Eating a magnificent meal then my favorite dessert of all time (tarte fine aux pommes) at Hôtel Costes:

Tarte fine aux pommes.

Macarooning at Angelina:

Macaron au café.

Admiring flowers (and the cool “vase”) on rue de Buci:

Jolies fleurs.

Admiring the windows at Ladurée (then down the road at Hermes):

Ladurée window.

Closing down down Bofinger one night then Macéo the next:

The fabulous Macéo. It’s empty!

Breakfasting with friends:

Bonjour!

And…resisting the temptation to splurge on this fabulous bag at Jamin Puech:

It was a quick trip but Paris was, as always, inspirational.

And look what was waiting for me (in addition to my lovely family),when I got back:

My first sweet peas of the season!

A bientôt!

About cdhla

I'm a former editor at several lifestyle magazines who's been freelancing since moving from NYC to LA. I call my blog The Chipped Platter to remind us that chips are better than perfection. The platter in question, a round one made by Gien, has traveled the world with me, visited with friends and family, celebrated milestones, and offered sustenance. My cherished Chipped Platter is part of the family. (I love my chipped plates, too!) On this blog, I'll be sharing my adventures of cooking for my family and friends, venturing out into restaurants and learning tips from people I meet. Come along!
